It Can Start

It can start with a flurry,
with the very first flake to fall.
Gloved hands and rosy cheeks,
Tongue outstretched.

It can start with a note,
weather noticed or not.
A simple piece of music,
that ignites the familiar spark.

It can start with a tree,
standing perfect and naked.
As with an outstretched hand,
the first colored ball goes on.

It can start with a memory,
of days long since past.
Of wanting to feel some warmth,
finding none there.

We gather as our ancestors did,
in ritual to banish the darkness.
To draw close those we cherish most,
to spread a little cheer.

Made from Starlight

Like the stars,
each of us has the opportunity to shine.
To become the brightest star,
in the sky of our lives.

Each day we take the quill to the parchment,
is another chance to write what we want.
And everything that is hidden inside our hearts,
everything we've never told another soul couldbe our reality.

The path we journey daily,
brings us closer to those secret dreams.
There is a light that draws those around you,
It can be hard to see it yourself but its there.

Never let the fire in your soul be snuffed out,
promise me you will always fight.
That you will stay true to yourself,
Never letting anyone or anything keep you down.

Like the stars,

each of us has the opportunity to shine.
To become the brightest star,
in the sky of our lives.

Haunt my Dreams

I want to pull you close,
breath in your sweet aroma.
Close my eyes and hold on tight,
never let you go.

You don't belong to me,
and I will never be yours.
Though when I see your face,
the dreams start all over.

You haunt my dreams,
every second I'm awake.
Any moment I find to sleep,
you're waiting for me.

You haunt my soul,
with a voice that sings softly.
A lullaby and a charm,
meant just for me.

You take away my breath,
make it difficult to remember.
Such a passion is building up,
with no means to set it free.

You haunt my dreams,
every second I'm awake.
Any moment I find to sleep,
you haunt my Dreams
.

Summer's Light

The summer's warmth comes to a close, as autumn's chill rises to take her place. I glance back and I smile fondly, filled with joy at all I have experienced. With me they will travel, into the cold of the winter's night. To keep me warm and make me smile, whenever I think upon their light.
